This course provides instruction in the analysis and interpretation of urine and other clinical body fluids. Students will study renal physiology, renal function testing, and routine urinalysis, including physical, chemical, and microscopic evaluation. Additional topics include the laboratory assessment of cerebrospinal, pleural, pericardial, peritoneal, synovial, seminal, vaginal, and fecal specimens, as well as cell counts using a hemocytometer. Emphasis is placed on laboratory techniques, quality control, and clinical correlation to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.
